Najee Merriman

Najee Merriman is a rising singer, actor, and model from Bowie, Maryland, making waves in music and entertainment at an incredibly young age. He holds the distinction of being the youngest person to ever record a go-go song, a milestone that connects him to the rich musical legacy of the Washington, DC region.

Music runs in Najee’s blood. He is the son of the former lead singer of the legendary 90s group Experience Unlimited. Najee began singing alongside his father by the age of 5, and by just 7 years old, he released his first song, “Show Me Some Love,” created in the DC region’s famous go-go style.

Najee describes his music as “happy, feel-good music”—the kind of uplifting sound you would expect to hear from the son of a successful R&B singer. At age 8, he released “I Need a Girlfriend,” a fun track guaranteed to make listeners move their happy feet. He later released two more singles, “Fun” and “Superstar.” His latest song, “Crushing On You,” is crushing it on social media right now, with fans calling it a definite hit.

Continuing to build momentum, Najee is currently working with a former member of the 90s multi-platinum group Blackstreet, and together they have written five future R&B hit songs. Legendary 90s super-producer Teddy Riley has also shown interest in working with the young talent on upcoming projects.

In addition to music, Najee is a promising young actor. He has landed lead roles in two stage plays, portraying Troy Bolton in High School Musical and Young Simba in The Lion King Jr. Most recently, Najee was contacted by someone affiliated with the Broadway production MJ: The Musical regarding the role of Young Michael Jackson.
